Monday Weekend Recap: NEW JOB! Church and Traders Village

Not saying that I'm living the life of luxury but I'm working on it.

I started a new job and so far I like it a lot. It's taking up most of my Tuesdays Thursdays and occasional Saturdays but the pay off is going to be worth it, I'm sure.

This past Saturday, I worked my first full day. It was crazy! Very busy but it was really fun. I missed working for an Optometrist. Working up the patients and all that good stuff is just exciting to me. Plus I was happy to be in a stable work environment with an amazing boss and cool co-workers. Too bad that the girl who trained me left.

It was funny too because the Doctor bought us lunch and dessert, and then Lenscrafters bought pizza so she was like, "Is it my birthday?" Which I thought was HILARIOUS! Because she is leaving... get it? Like she is getting all kinds of free stuff on her last day? Ah never mind. It was funnier in my head.

Sunday was a pretty good day as well. Josh and I got up and went to church. The previous week they talked about having a spiritual gift and we had some sort of assessment test to figure out what they were.

Obviously I got the Artistry, Music - Instrumental and Music - Vocal. That was a no-brainer. Well, this week there was a lot of singing involved. There was the choir that sang, and some other people from Lubbock, TX sang as well and it was pretty inspiring. It made me want to join their choir. But being the chicken-shit that I am, I didn't talk to the choir director even though she was sitting right in front of me while we were eating lunch... sigh. Maybe someday.

After church, we went to Traders Village in Grand Prairie... AGAIN. This time was a funner. We got to see more things. Josh's mom bought us rings that are really cute. And I had two Margarita's! They are displayed in the picture above, and that's Josh's mother. She is a sweet heart. I liked walking around with a little buzz going on, LOL. I would say that I had a pretty good weekend.

Sorry for not updating much guys. I've been pretty busy, but once my life gets settled, I should be posting more and getting back to my schedule! So please bear with me!

  1. I'm sorry you've been so busy! I know how that is. I hope everything calms down soon and that you get everything on track! I'm trying to get ahead with my university work so I don't fall behind at all. It's working so far...

Congratulations on the new job. :D I remember leaving my old one a year ago; I was sad because the people were so nice and being in the position of leaving, I wondered how they felt about ME going. :P

I go to an evening mass at church. The priest said recently that we are such a quiet bunch and he'd love for us to get involved and have a choir and more volunteers like the other masses... XD

  2. Congrats and good luck with your new job! Sounds like you're pretty busy, but busy is good! Coming from the person who sits around all day. -_-

  3. @The Anything Place Thank you so much!

@Jeorgina It's okay! I love being busy! I just don't like it when it interferes with my schedules! You should most definitely start a choir or something! I think it would be really fun to do that!

@Ashley Thank you so much! Hopefully, it won't be that way for long! =]

  6. you go brother! I was hesitant too when I first joined a few years back, but when I got in, I realized that there are only a handful of men who are willing to spend time and talent as a choir singer.
