Mortal Kombat X introduces a gay character!

For all the gaymers out there, and I know that there are quite a few, here is some exciting news: Mortal Kombat X has a gay character out there! The back story, or really the story itself on how we come about to his sexuality is really just very subtle and you never would really guess it if you weren't paying attention, you would have thought that he was just a regular character.

The former thief turned monk Kung Jin has a flashback during the game where he has a conversation with Raiden about joining the Shaolin Monks. He basically says that he "can't... they won't allow it." And Raiden replies back with, "They care only of whats in your heart, not what your heart desires." If only it were that easy. It seems like the fictional world of Mortal Kombat X is having the same dilemmas as modern gays in the real world today.

I think that it is a huge and groundbreaking step for Mortal Kombat X to have this gay character. And for the creators to display his sexuality in such a mild manner really shows how insignificant a characters sexual orientation should have an impact on the player. It's a back story that really personifies the character and yet it is just like showing that his hair is black and that his skin tone is a little beige-y brown color. It is who he is, not who we see he is. I'm proud of you game designers of Mortal Kombat X. I can't wait to play this game on my PS4!

What do you guys think of the new addition to the Mortal Kombat characters?
